Looking back on Swift 3 and ahead to Swift 4
Chris Lattner with a summary of Swift 3, and 4! He outlines a two phase plan for the next version and gives us some ideas on what to expect. Oh, and I do realise that there is a certain irony of linking this as the first article after what I wrote above, but this is the news this week.😀
The writing class I’d like to teach
I'm a strong believer that effectively editing your copy is just as important as the writing itself. This article by Jason Fried isn't specific to creating marketing materials, but does have a really good exercise to try the next time you sit down at your text editor to write a blog post or other marketing copy. Why not give it a try?

NextLevel: Rad Media Capture in Swift
This looks to be an extremely comprehensive photo/video capture library written in Swift 3. At its core it looks to be a customisable capture API but there's so much more to it than that (see the documentation). What are you waiting for? Go and build the next Vine or Snapchat. 👓
Seeing how flat colors have become quite popular over the years, I’m willing to bet that gradients will be the next big thing in iOS design. 😜 Pastel's popularity further proves this by making it easy to implement gradient animations similar to those found on Instagram’s login screen. Definitely worth checking out.
