This is a new tool from Gus Mueller (creator of Acorn) looks very cool. Think of it like Automator for image processing. If you're regularly processing assets for your apps, you'll want to check out this public beta.

The fastlane suite of tools has been around for a while now but this week Felix Krause shipped 1.0. The release includes OS X support, better documentation, auto update and a few other smaller features and bug fixes. Even if you don't want to automate an entire CD process, there are a whole load of useful individual tools in here.
Without a doubt, the most painful part of shipping an app release to the App Store is updating the screenshots, especially if you add frames, text, and callouts. You can automate the screenshots with fastlane, but how do you automate everything that comes after that? This tool and the developer API aim to solve that problem. Define a template in the web-based editor, then ping the API for generated screenshots. 👍
Trim iOS Screenshots, Made Easy
Joachim Bondo with a command line tool and companion Automator action for snipping the top 20 points from an iOS screenshot. I prefer to put a "perfect" status bar on my screenshots rather than snip them (more on that coming in a couple of weeks) but you should be doing something to clean up your status bars before uploading to iTunes Connect and this tool makes it super easy.
We released this little utility yesterday to help replace the status bar on your iOS App Store screenshots with a clean, perfect version. No carrier text, 9:41AM time, full battery, etc... I always tried to clean up the status bar before submitting our screenshots but I got a little tired of doing it manually in Photoshop every time so we produced a little tool to help us automate the task. Full disclosure: This tool was written by my company.
Castaway: Build screencasts and video presentations
As developers, we hate manual work and most (if not all?) of the current tools for building screencasts or video demos are not able to be automated. Castaway by Jamis Buck is a new tool for building screencasts in code. Yes, you'll still have to produce your images images manually but this is a huge step forward for this kind of content. Is it good enough for your homepage product demo? Probably not yet, but it's a very intriguing start!
Command-Line iTunes Connect Submissions
Nik Fletcher on taking advantage of a relatively unknown feature of iTunes Connect, its support for automation via XML metadata files. Nik goes through some good tips on working with these files, and has written a useful little app which gives a GUI to the command line tool.
